About this project

This is the first Real Case VPA of the GS PoA titled "COMMUNITY COOKSTOVE PROGRAM IN MADAGASCAR BY WEACT", which is proposed under Gold Standard and currently under Preliminary Review. The proposed project boundary for the VPA is Antsirabe region of Republic of Madagascar. This VPA will involve new distribution of Improved Cookstoves to the target population where baseline is identified as inefficient cooking practices that mainly includes open firing with three stone arrangement. This VPA is proposed to be a micro scale project, thus total emission reductions to be achieved annually shall be within the limit of 10,000 tCO2e. This VPA is proposed and to be implemented by CME, WeAct Pty Ltd., with the help of local partners. The VPA will achieve the objective of the PoA while achieving long term sustainable development in the region.
