About this project

The primary objective of this project is to enhance access to clean and safe drinking water for both institutions and communities across Rwanda through the installation of Water purification systems (Water ATMs). By installing these Water ATMs, the project aims to provide a sustainable and affordable solution for safe drinking water, reducing reliance on unsafe water sources and minimizing health risks associated with waterborne diseases such as cholera, dysentery, typhoid etc. It also reduces the burden of water collection, particularly for women and girls, allowing them to focus on education and economic opportunities. The project supports environmental conservation by reducing the need to boil water with firewood or charcoal, thereby lowering energy consumption, deforestation, and Greenhouse gas emissions. By ensuring reliable access to clean drinking water, this initiative promotes public health, economic growth, and social well-being, contributing to sustainable development and strengthening community resilience.
