About this project

The project will disseminate improved cook stoves (ICS) – to households within Tanzania. By providing clean cooking, the project will ensure that households consume less firewood during the process of cooking and as a result there shall be a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from the combustion process. Most people in Sub-Saharan Africa rely on gathering biomass for cooking, in particular in rural areas, which dramatically damages health and impairs productivity improvements. The procurement and consumption of these fuels define the character of everyday life in many developing countries. In line to its vision of delivering high impact related to health, savings and convenience, SDG 13 Ventures Pte. Ltd. is undertaking an extensive distribution programme to create a nation-wide access of Clean Cookstoves for low-income consumer. The project will contribute in achieving SDGs including, SDG-01: 1 No poverty, SDG-3: Good Health and Well Being, SDG-5: Gender Equality, SDG 7- Affordable and Clean energy, SDG 8: Full and productive employment and decent work for all, SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities and SDG-13: Climate Action. The programme would result in GHG emission reductions and other impact outcomes which can be traded internationally and the revenue collected from such trade will benefit the scaling up of the project and thereby assist other households who are still using traditional stoves.
