About this project

The proposed project activity ‘Accelerating Access to Clean Cooking in Kenya Project by Nyalore Impact Limited’ will be implemented by Nyalore Impact Limited’ with the purpose of promoting and distributing clean cooking devices that include Induction Cookers (ICs) and Electric Pressure Cookers (EPCs) to house-holds in Kenya. The project intends to accelerate access to clean cooking by displacing use of inefficient biomass cooking devices and polluting fuels. Use of the project technology will displace GHG emissions from the thermal energy consumption required for cooking by households. This will consequently contribute towards reduced household air pollution and support several sustainable development goals. The project’s primary target is end-users who cook using inefficient biomass cookstoves and polluting fuels such as kerosene both in the urban and rural areas of Kenya. Goals and Objectives of the Project Activity According to the 2022 KNBS Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) report, 68.5% of Kenyan population still highly dependent on traditional cooking fuels, with firewood being the predominant cooking fuel. This presents a climate change challenge and has motivated the project developer to develop an innovative project that will accelerate the transition to cleaner cooking solutions to mitigate the negative impacts associated with the use of traditional fuels.
