DATA GUIDE
Reading the dashboard
Each tile explains one number and where it comes from.
The dashboard adapts to the country you are in.
- Mapped mangrove: total hectares and polygons in the country's main map (the latest year).
- Dominant formation or Change since 1996: which species formation leads (Lamu), or the net change in area (other countries).
- Within 10 km of LAPSSET, Field plots vs map, Restoration sites, Tagged turtles: local Kenyan layers; they appear only where data exists.
- Datasets and Data quality score: how much is loaded and how healthy it is.
- Provenance coverage: how many records can be traced to a source.
Sections below: a live map, area by formation (or by year), landscape science (fragmentation, clustering), themes with data, top recommendations, datasets grouped by source, and a data-health panel.
Tip. Every tile and card links onward; the green button at the bottom of the map card opens the full map.
