For researchers
Reproducible area and change measurements with full provenance and statistics.
Use Atlas for: country-level area and change; patch metrics (effective mesh size, largest patch index, power-law exponent); spatial statistics (Moran's I, Getis-Ord Gi*); proximity analysis; comparison of Atlas and official figures.
Reproduce a result. Follow Provenance to the archive file and checksum, read the Methodologies page for the formula, and recompute in your own GIS.
Be explicit about: map year and version, Atlas-measured versus official area, the 2.3% offset, the 30 m resolution, and that scenarios use illustrative carbon.
Get the data: request institutional access for downloads; cite the original publishers.
Ask for what is missing: gross loss/gain overlay, additional years, rasters and species data are on the roadmap; use the request buttons to help prioritise.
