Using the map: layers, filters and pop-ups
Tick layers, search by name, filter by class and size, and click features for details.
Layers panel (left). Layers are grouped by theme and listed with their feature counts. Use Find a layer to search, All to tick everything visible and None to clear. Newest Global Mangrove Watch years are listed first.
Filters. Choose a formation class, type part of a name, or set a minimum and maximum polygon size in hectares, then press Apply filters.
Map behaviour. Zoomed out, large layers appear as a density grid so the map stays fast; zoom in to see individual polygons (shapes are simplified at low zoom). Drag to pan, scroll to zoom.
Click any feature for its name, area, perimeter or length, date and a link to its source and provenance.
Basemap tiles come from OpenStreetMap; all shapes come from Atlas' own database.
Restricted layers are never shown here to members or guests.
