Organisations and community involvement in carbon projects

Developer names are grouped into organisations; community involvement is read from what each project says about itself.

Organisations. Registries name a project developer. Names that differ only in spelling or legal suffix are grouped, so one organisation appears once with all its projects, countries and credits. The type (company, NGO, community group, research, government) is inferred from the name unless a legal-entity record was found in the open GLEIF register, in which case the legal name, address country and registration status are shown. Registries do not publish contact details, so none are listed.

Community involvement. For each project Atlas shows who the project describes working with, for example smallholder farmers, households, women, schools or community groups, and where this was read from. Plan Vivo projects such as Vanga Blue Forest state community ownership and participating households explicitly. If the record we hold says nothing, Atlas says so instead of guessing.

What it is not. It is not an audit of benefit-sharing or consent. The project design document and validation report in the registry are the place to check that.

Limits. Descriptions come from registry text; organisation types are inferred from names.
