Measurement, reporting and verification (MRV)
The three steps that make a carbon claim credible.
Measure carbon stocks and changes (field plots plus remote sensing), Report them transparently using accepted methods, and have them Verifyed by an independent party.
Atlas supports the first two steps by keeping every number traceable to its source record (see the Provenance Explorer) and by documenting every calculation (see Methodologies).
Limits. Atlas is an intelligence and screening platform. It is not a certified MRV system and its outputs are not carbon credits.
